...Seek my face...

Moses wanted to see God.  God allowed Moses to see His goodness, and he announced His name to Moses.  But no one is allowed to see God the Father.  However, God the Son is manifested to us in the theophany, Jesus.

In Moses' case the interesting thing is that upon seeing God's glory, when Moses came back down from the mountain his face reflected the brightness of God's glory.  Moses' face shone with the reflectant glory of God and a veil was needed when in front of the other people.

There are many times when men of God desired to see God to see His glory, but we are unable to see that magnificence.  We are just not holy enough to bear it.  However, when we see Jesus we see God in the flesh.  And Jesus walked with man during his ministry here on earth.

Hebrews 1:3 says that Jesus "...being the brightness of God's glory, and the express image of God's person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."  Jesus is the image of God's glory that made Moses shine with reflection.

It is this that we seek, when we seek His face.  We should be seeking Jesus, and seeing the brightness of His glory.  At the same time, when we see this glory we should reflect it.  We as people who are called by His name, should reflect the brightness of Jesus and people around us should see him in us.
