Prayers

Over the next few weeks, we will be placing prayers in this section from time to time to address the needs of this world.  Please come back from time to time to join us in prayer.  If you have any prayer requests please leave them below and we will bring them to our group of Stewards who will lift them up to God.  We will place suitable prayers here for all followers of Jesus to pray as well.

Father, please be with Erich as he drives truck through difficult circumstances.  Protect him, strengthen him, and keep him healthy as he drives through Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, and into England.  In the midst of the furnace may you be there with him.  Amen. AW

Jehovah God, thank you for your provision through this time of change in our life.  May you be glorified.  Amen.

Lord, We lift up Matt as he is going through struggles with the stress of the current turmoil.  We ask that You draw him to you through this time and provide people who will point him to you and disciple him into a deep relationship with you.  Amen.

Lord, we thank you for our friend Jon, for his life that pointed the way to you for so many people.  Lord we lift you up for the way the final days of his life and his passing have glorified you.  May you hold his wife Darlene, and all of their children and grandchildren in your hands as they face the coming weeks.  May their dark days be shortened and may your joy be found in them each day.  Amen.

Father, through this time of trials and social distancing may you keep before us the need to reach out and touch the people around us.  May this time of isolation be one where we do not forsake the gathering together in some manner.  Father, protect your church and may it be strengthened in this time.  Amen.

Lord Jesus, please be with Jake who is unsettled about his future.  He is being tempted to take steps in his life which are not from you.  Guide him and send someone into his life who he will speak with that will point him toward you.  Soften his heart and open his eyes.  Amen.  MH

Heavenly Father, You are able to do all things.  You are the source of all things.  You have sent a comforter to us for times such as this.  We pray for all the people who are suffering from the Corona Virus and ask that you give them hope and send people into their lives that point them toward you.  You are the great healer and may these people be healed according to Your Will.  Please be with the families of those who have succumbed and may they find peace in You and support from the Followers of Jesus around them.  Amen.

Lord, we come before you about Tulita.  Lord thank-you for the natural isolation its location provides, but we ask that you strengthen and lift up the small band of believers and people who make up the town as distances make health services difficult.  They request your help as they address the passing of the Elder and the difficulties of holding a gathering in these times.  Lord grant wisdom to them and protect them.  In your name, Amen.  AT

Heavenly Father, we pray for our pastors today.  The shepherds of your flock.  Lord, may they be strengthened and begin to call your people to pray.  May they turn people away from sin, and toward a relationship with you.  May they live out the trust they speak of, and trust you, instead of trusting their position, their structure, and their education.  Lord, guide them and help them to pray.  So many are falling away, but call them back to you and have them return to their first love.  Amen.

Praying through Psalm 23 - "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thous preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."  Amen

Lord, we lift up to you Allan who is out working on the pipelines.  Lord, he is away from home and away from his brothers, but we keep him in our prayers.  Be with him and keep him safe as he works and commutes.  Keep him focused on you.  And Lord please be with his kids back at home.  Make yourself real to them and bless them with safety and a yearning for you.  We thank you for the work but bring Allan back to his family when your time is right.  In your name we pray, Amen.

Father God,  We ask that you lift up the Stewards who are out and about doing your work.  Lord, you know who they are, servants speaking to truckers, feeding sheep, spreading your word, teaching others to obey your commandments, and living holy lives before you to glorify you.  We ask your protection for them, and your encouragement, and sustaining grace as they go as sheep among the wolves.  Amen.

Lord God,  We come before you to request wisdom and guidance in decisions faced by many restaurant and food services businesses and workers as they face this time of trial.  May you grant them peace and strength as their businesses have been decimated by the forced isolation.  May you grant them favor as they have been places of gathering for your people and providers of sustenance to travelers and the weary.  For those who have lost too much to continue, we ask for their provision and direction.  For those who struggle on, may you give them encouragement.  For those who wish to seize this opportunity to begin a venture, may you give them strength and courage.  Lord we are one who feels led to exit the industry.  We ask for guidance in the sale of our business if that may be your will, and the provision of a buyer who will serve you, and that this is mutually beneficial.  May we continue to serve you in new ways.  Give us wisdom in the next steps.  We thank-you Lord for the good people that have come through our door.  May we continue to minister to your people, and others who you bring along our path.  May we stay focused on you.  In your name, Amen.  LB

Lord, I ask you to give Mel strength after the notice that he only has three months left on this earth.  Lord you grant us but short time on this earth as compared to the eternity after, but some like Mel have failed to consider the hereafter.  May you bring people in to his life in the hospital who are able to answer his questions and lead him to a true faith in you.  Give him strength to withstand radiation treatment and health to be able to fight the possible infections travelling around the hospitals these days.  Lord let his wife know there is support from us and may she come to know you as well.  Amen  JG

Thank-you Father, for your redemption through Jesus.  May many turn their hearts to the Creator and know the One who Saves His people.  Amen.  TF

Lord, Please be with the airline employees during this trying time.  Protect them, give them peace, and help through the tight times.  May they trust in you and know you hold the answers to the future.  Amen.

Heavenly Father, we bring our prayers before you regarding the brothers and sisters in Asia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Korea, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, and others who do not have the means to support the population as is seen in other parts of the world through this time.  Lord, we are not sure what is best at this time, but we know that you do.  May your Holy Spirit direct believers to help as needed and may the people of these lands be cared for in the palm of your hand.  Keep them safe, may repression be taken away, and may they blossom in your love.  Amen.  MC

Lord, we pray for those who are suffering from depression and isolation in this time.  Direct your children to reach into the lives of those around them despite the isolation.  Lord, you made us to be in relationship with you and you have made us to be in your image in relationship with each other.  Guide us back to this, guide us to fellowship with each other that reflects your image, your love, and your ways.  Amen.

Father God, we lift up to you the families of those who have died in Nova Scotia from the shooting rampage.  May you make yourself real to them.  May they have open ears, and open hearts to feel your love and peace.  May bitterness be removed and forgiveness develop.  May the families find paths through this dark time.  Amen.

Lord, we lift up to you the families of the people whose eyes were unable to see your presence and instead saw darkness.  The ones whose ears were unable to hear your comforting words and only heard the accuser.  Who did not see a way forward, but saw only struggle.  The ones who did not seek the warmth of life with you, but only felt the coldness of death.  Lord we pray for those who have recently committed or attempted suicide.  May you be there with the survivors, and give them hope, and bring them family through your children.  Amen.
